We had possibly assembled the greatest fleet ever. Thanks to BK, the Axis could face the juggernaut named Wolfpak. I watched the common room full of heroes all having a good time. I smiled as almost everyone got along together, for the respect for each other’s accomplishments were high. BK was telling advice and such to a group of pilots. While Bujias was being his normal self, telling stories and laughing his infectious laugh. Everyone is all smiles and having fun. Cool and Boobiez were the eccentrics of our fleet and always entertained when we were bored. BK then hushed everyone silent and started.

“Tomorrow we fly out to North Soviet Union.” He said.
“We are going after Wolfpak?” Zapeta asked.
“If they show, yes.” BK replied.
“Let’s show them wolves are nothing compared to lions!” Cool yelled over the murmuring.

Everyone cheered at this and everyone was excited. Sarah excused herself and went somewhere. I was puzzled as she looked very upset, but I ignored this for the meanwhile.

“Let’s show those stinking Soviets that their “gods” can bleed!” Bujias roared, the men cheered in response.
“This may decide the war in my opinion…imagine the morale boost or decrease if either side were to win over the other?” BK said.
“We must fly carefully, don’t underestimate them, it will be a fight with intensity that one mistake can kill you.” I said coldly.

This quieted the room. Everyone realized now that this was a fight of skill and talent and all, which you could muster together. Going toe to toe with a monster whose destruction cannot be gauged. BK had been studying reports on how each of the Pak members fought, and gave us the strategy…every hero listened.

Our plan was simple. We were not to fight Wolfpak to the last man. All we had to do was provide the much needed morale boost. BK said if we were to fight to the last man, surely only one man would live at the end of the day. He also was afraid if the other rising fleet, HammerDown, would appear and sweep us away. They would outnumber us greatly if they were to come to the fight, and they were no pushovers, so we could not risk staying in fight for too long. Another fleet were to meet our pursuers so we could get away, an ambush of some sorts.

I walked back to my room with Bujias; we were both excited in some sorts for the next day. We grasped hands and said our goodnights. Then I entered the room with Sarah looking outside the window…

Sarah
I turned around and saw King enter the room. I smiled sadly at him and motioned for him to sit beside me. He came over and sat.

“Hey what’s wrong Sarah? You look upset.” King asked.
“King…don’t do this mission…please” I said weakly.
“Sarah, don’t be scared. I have flown out a hundred times safely back to you.” King said with an assuring smile.
“This is Wolfpak! They are skilled, confident, and they are a team!” I said.
“…Do you think I will lose? To leave you alone here? Never, as long as I have you to fly back to.” King said.

I blushed and turned away. These men. How could they be so full of themselves? Where a mistake could kill them in the air. They are truly giants of my time.

“Just fly safely! And for God’s sake stop bringing that pistol every time you fly!” I said quickly.
“Haha…you’re right, I don’t know why I bring that thing now. I mean I survived that other time (Bujias had unloaded King’s pistol secretly, I owed that beaner King!).” King replied.
“Oh…and keep Bujias and BK close, they are like my older brothers to me now I guess…” I said sheepishly.
“Will do! I need some sleep really badly…” King almost asked.
“Alright, let’s sleep, you need the rest for tomorrow…” I said as I turned off the lamp and King wrapped his arm around me.

I had nothing to worry about right? This was King, a killer, murderer, ace, hero, and beloved. I filled my mind with all the stories from the airmen, of how King becomes invincible to the enemy. Also all the pilots around him, they were all larger than life figures, they would take care of him…I still slept with an uneasy mind…

King
I woke up and Sarah was in the bathroom. I wore whatever was nearest to me and got out. I met Zyrus and Chinko while walking towards the mess hall…

“Hello King.” Both said.
“Hi Chinko, hi Zyrus.” I said.
“We’ve heard, BBB is going to fly out to meet Wolfpak.” Chinko said.
“It is true…I have heard Cookie_Aces and the 343 are moving to the Pacific…” I replied.
“We wish you good luck. These rumours are true. We will go soon.” Zyrus said.
“I guess this is our good byes for now…” I said.
“Well, actually, we are the cover fleet for your return!” Chinko said.
“That is great! I know we will be safe now.” I said excitedly.
“Yeah, then we are to fly for Japan after.” Zyrus said.
“Be sure to let the Allies remember who you guys are when you leave.” I said with a smile.

We said our farewells from there and the day passed slowly. Everyone was anxious. The tension was building. Everyone was confident, now the seeds of doubt were starting to get planted in our heads. I was talking with Bujias in the common room; we were all ready to fly out on the command.

“Hey King…give this letter to my mother…if you know.” Bujias said.
“Hey…don’t even think those thoughts.” I replied.
“Let’s get serious King, we have flown so many missions, we’re all lucky enough to not get killed.” Bujias said.
“Alright, fine. You have to take care of Sarah if I don’t come back.” I said as I took the letter.
“She will be fine, everyone takes care of her here.” Bujias said.
“Let’s get to our birds already I’m bored, we have to shoot as many of those wolves as we can so let’s prepare.” I said as I stood up.
“Let’s go!” Bujias replied.

We went to our magnificent machines, with 3B painted on the side. Sarah was waiting for us by the hangar. She watched as we inspected our machines. Finally, BK came out with the rest of the BigBadBoys and there was an air of power around them.

“Hey King…give me the pistol.” Sarah said.
“Yeah give that silly thing to her, your crazy for even carrying that.” Bujias joked.
“Fine…” I handed the pistol to her.
“Come back safely.” She said as she hugged me.
“Do I get anything?” Bujias asked.
“Bujias you are a good man, take care of King.” Sarah said as she kissed Bujias on the cheek.

Bujias flushed bright red, and was stunned. I laughed at his face. Bujias turned around and went straight to his plane after! I climbed into my plane and waved goodbye to Sarah as we took off.

We were in the air! It was refreshing to all the seriousness, and everyone else was relieved as well. We flew straight to North Soviet Union. Everyone was chatting it up on the radio, getting the fleet fired up for the fight. Then we spotted him. It was Pain! He held the record for fastest plane speed ever. He was their scout and we watched him shoot down an observation plane with ease! He broke for the clouds and all of us chased! Above the clouds we saw what was waiting. It was a mix of fleets! There were some Wolfpak told from their bright colours, some HammerDown as I saw the infamous Yager and Lance among them. And some surrounding planes, I presumed as novice pilots on a training run. We flew head long into the wall of planes.

It was total chaos in the air. I saw target after target, and shot rapidly not trying to get into a dogfight, as someone would surely shoot me down if I stopped for a moment. Leviathan, Cobra, Zapeta, BK, Bujias, and I were splitting the group of planes up into smaller groups. There we picked the Allies off more easily. I spotted Tootall going after Bujias! I quickly went behind him and shot a short burst. In this fight, there was no honour or glory, just cold-blooded killing. His plane was armoured quite well! His engine sputtered and he headed for the ground but I saw a parachute emerge. I looked for another opponent, but then saw Paragon, in that feared, golden spitfire! He was on Cool’s tail! I rushed over…but it was too late. A short flash of bullets, and Cool’s plane was spinning towards the ground, and thankfully crashed into the water, I did not know if he died or not, but he definitely had a better chance of surviving there than on crashing on land. I looked around once again, and we had definitely shot down many of them, but this gave room to more prominent fighters such as Paragon, Splashdown, Yager, and Lance to get into dogfights. There were also an entire of mob that followed these famous fleets, and BK made the right decision.

“Everyone back! They just have way too many planes…” BK said.

Everyone turned tail and started a weave pattern and flew back to our lines. There were some of us that were missing, but I did not have time to figure out whom because the Allies were tailing us furiously and started to land some shots on us, but nothing serious. Not a single person’s plane was undamaged. We were close to the lines, and then Yager shot up my engine!

“Damn it! Bujias get him off me I need to crash land!” I yelled.
“I got you covered.” Bujias replied.

Bujias slowly went into a dive after Yager and followed. I flew like a bird with a broken wing. Bujias kept firing at him, but he was brave and followed although he got hit a few times! Yager got away from Bujias and then lined me up for the kill…time slowed to a halt, and I knew there was no escape this time.

Then above us, another fleet came in! They came screaming in and split the Allies like an axe splitting wood. I was saved! I knew it was CA and did not look back. Yager now had to end his chase and flew back quickly to the rest of his fleet. I slowly descended to the ground, and crash-landed successfully. I got out and it was freezing cold. I waved Bujias off and he flew back to the base.

We had stood toe to toe with giants. I was disappointed about how the battle turned out. I knew both sides lost some men, but not too many to change the war. It was a loss for both sides, more for us, as the Allies replace men like throwing another log into the fire. It was then that i realized the impossibility of our task to defeat the Allies. I started walking back. BK, Bujias and Sarah met me some ways in a jeep and drove me back. At the base there was silence. No one talked of the fight that happened, they knew what was happening. The tide of war was changing, we felt it, we knew it, and the Allies simply outnumbered us to the point where skill can easily be trampled on by sheer force. I sat and realized we had no hope…everyone locked themselves in their rooms and Sarah didn’t say anything, it was the moment where silence meant everything and more…
